Gregory Flynn-Sollish

Election Protection Strategist

Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Greg received his BA in anthropology from the University of Michigan. After graduating, Greg worked as an electoral organizer with the Michigan Coordinated Campaign. Drawing on this organizing work, Greg went on to the University of Virginia to pursue a PhD in political anthropology. Situated in Detroit, Greg's dissertation research explored how local residents mobilized to reinvigorate the City's democracy in the wake of emergency management. As an activist-researcher, Greg spent two years working alongside grassroots campaigns seeking to reshape municipal institutions through community engagement and voter turnout. He has since taught undergraduate courses on democratic movement building. After completing field research, Greg worked as a program fellow for the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy. There, he helped design programming to stem the rise of religious nationalism and anti-democratic violence in the United States.

Greg is excited for the opportunity to join PTV Michigan and translate his research expertise into evidence-based interventions that ensure every Michigander has robust and safe access to electoral participation.
