A University of Michigan alum with a background in Sociology, Micheal has coordinated and led electoral operations and advocacy campaigns, locally and across the country for the last 18 years. Through the Community Action Network and AmeriCorps VISTA program, Micheal spent four years cultivating young leaders and building organizational capacity in southeast Michigan before joining State Voices, where he supported efforts to increase civic engagement in several states.

Following time with State Voices, Micheal actively worked to protect and advance workers’ rights as a lead within the UAW Global Organizing Institute, before serving nearly a decade in multiple organizing and political roles with the Michigan AFL-CIO. Micheal is thrilled to lead the Promote the Vote team and to continue the fight to ensure fair democratic elections and practices in Michigan for years to come.
