MICHIGAN – Today, state Representatives Kara Hope (D-Holt), Matt Koleszar (D-Plymouth), Mari Manoogian (D-Birmingham) and Karen Whitsett (D-Detroit) unveiled nine bills related to voting and elections in Michigan. The bills cover a variety of issues, from absentee applications to absentee ballot pre-processing to drop boxes. In response, Shira Roza, voting rights manager for Promote the Vote, issued the following statement:
“Promote the Vote thanks State Reps. Hope, Koleszar, Manoogian, and Whitsett for introducing this package of pro-voter bills. The voters of Michigan overwhelmingly support making our elections more accessible, and this package aims to do just that. We look forward to providing more feedback when these bills are scheduled for a committee hearing.”
